Thank you for visiting DorisKelley.org.  I am pleased to say during my two terms of office as one of Cedar Valley’s legislators, we have made great progress for Iowa families, children, veterans, senior citizens, and businesses.  But, there is still much work to be done.

We are not finished!  For that reason, I am seeking re-election on Tuesday, November 2, 2010.  If re-elected, I will continue to work in a bi-partisan manner to reach consensus on major issues so critical to Iowa’s sustainability and economic growth like education, healthcare, alternative energy, technology advancement, and meaningful employment. 

I have worked hard to be an effective voice for the entire Cedar Valley, whether the voters are of Independent, Republican or Democrat political persuasion.  As a former businessperson, I portray fiscally conservative values, am committed to financial security, and I favor compromise and bipartisanship over ideology and party discipline. 

It is critical that we never allow logic to be trumped by political divisiveness.  Leadership is more about results than rhetoric.  The citizens of the Cedar Valley need a strong person at the Capitol who is not afraid to stand up on their behalf, effectively work across-the-aisle, and not cater to lobbyists & special interest groups.

I take a common sense, do-no-harm approach to policymaking and strive to streamline government, relentlessly pursue a balanced budget, and follow the oath of office in upholding the Constitution of the State of Iowa.  On Tuesday, November 2, your due consideration of re-electing me to be your continued voice of reason at the Capitol is one for which I would be humbled . . . I haven’t and won’t take that responsibility lightly.
